  • Non-engagement of the compressor clutch

If there is low refrigerant in your AC system, the compressor clutch may not engage. Hence, you will need to determine the refrigerant level in the system.

5. Perform The Check

Turn your engine off and install the pressure gauge set. To do this, first, you’ll need to locate the high pressure and the low-pressure side of your AC system. Generally, you can find this low-pressure side on your passenger side and high-pressure side around the front section of your engine compartment. After locating the two ends, connect your pressure gauge’s terminals to these valves. Now notice the pressure reading on the dial. A reading below 50 PSI indicates a low refrigerant level.
